I have worked in interactive design for the past 9 years, and in that time I have concepted, created and directed many award winning sites and digital campaigns for clients big and small, including Kellogg's, Coke, Vauxhall, The BBC and Diesel.
My work has been recognised by D&AD, Design Week, Adobe Y Design, The Webby's, BIMA, The FWA, The Roses, One Show and London International Awards.
I'm a design practitioner as well as a director, I make identity, animation, illustration, film, sculpture, painting and drawing fused with technology to realise the original vision. My work has been featured in industry and consumer publications alike including Creative Review, Communication Arts, Design Week, The D&AD Annual, GQ, The Times and Wired.
I was part of the original team at magneticNorth and as Creative Director I was responsible for the creative output, forging alongside Brendan Dawes and the team there, the international reputation of this UK agency.
My ideas for brands, applications and products have been successful for both clients and in their own right; my idea of reinventing the cassette mixtape for the digital age bore MIXA – a way to give and share digital music. This idea was developed and realised by magneticNorth at www.makeamixa.com.
I have written and lectured on the subjects of design, art and technology throughout my career, making panel appearances, industry comment and supporting young creatives in whatever ways I can. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with some brilliant and inspirational people along the way.
I trained in Fine Art Sculpture and Multimedia Technologies and have worked at the intersection of design, technology, art and business ever since.
p.s. I do not think of myself as a web designer, I am what embarrassingly might be described as an 'ideas person' I just happen to have found this medium the most inspiring.
